The Japanese-Style Annex tour is a guided tour where visitors visit different rooms with a guide. Visitors are also welcome to visit the Main Building and Gardens (Front and Main Gardens).

Main Building (Hagoromo no Ma, Asahi no Ma, Sairan no Ma, Kacho no Ma, and Entrance Hall, etc.)

Estimated tour time About 2 to 2 and a half hours
Admission Adults: 2,000 yen, University Students: 1,500 yen, Junior & Senior High School Students: 700 yen
*No admission for primary school students and younger.
* Visitors may choose whether or not to visit the Main Building at the time they pay their admission (no advance reservation required).
* University, Junior & Senior High School students will be asked to present their student ID card or student notebook.
* Admission is exempted for persons with a valid physical disability certificate, nursing certificate, mental disability certificate, war injury certificate, or A-bomb survivor’s certificate, and up to one chaperone. Please present your document at the reception on the day of your visit.
* The Japanese Style Annex is not accessible by wheelchair as spaces in the building are limited.
How to visit ◆By reservation [first-come-first-serve]
To register, visit “Application System for Guest House Public Opening” and enter the required information.

(1) Registration dates and times:
・Visits from Tuesday, March 19 to Friday, May 17: Currently open for registration.
・Visits for Saturday, May 18 and later: TBD
(2) Number of people who can register: 1 to 20 people
(3) Receiving your visitor’s certificate: You will receive your visitor’s certificate by email after you complete your registration. Please make sure not to lose your visitor’s certificate as you will be asked to present it at reception.
* If there are any tour time slots with vacancies, visitors may register at the door and join the tour on the day of.
*Entry into the building may be restricted depending on crowd conditions.
*The entrance is located at the West Gate (Gakushuin Primary School side). Visitors are not permitted to re-enter the building.
*Please purchase an admission ticket after checking in at reception (inspection of baggage, personal belongings, etc.).
*Visitors can enter the Main Building one time only. Visitors are not permitted to re-enter the building after leaving.
* Before your visit, please check Visitor Rules & Regulations .

Japanese-Style Annex Tour start times 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00 (10 tours in all)
* Tours starting at 15:00 on weekends and public holidays are English guided tours.
* On the day of your visit, please enter the premises through the West Gate at least 30 minutes before your tour begins and complete your reception.
* Visitors are welcome to visit the Main Building and Gardens before and after their tour.

  • ● In the event of receiving distinguished guests at short notice, the scheduled public opening may be suddenly cancelled; please check the latest Public Opening Schedule before your visit. We will announce a change of the schedule on Twitter as well.
  • ● Parking is prohibited near the West Gate. Please do not park buses, taxis, or other vehicles there.
  • ● Visitors under the influence of alcohol may be refused for reasons of the facility’s protection.
  • * The Guest House is engaged in the following efforts to prevent the spread of infection. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
  • ● Visitors with cold symptoms such as cough and fever, labored breathing and strong fatigue are asked to refrain from visiting.
  • ● When visiting the site, please cooperate by observing the following rules:
    • - Please be sure to disinfect your hands.
    • - Please observe social distancing wherever possible so as not to form crowds.
    • - Refrain from talking as much as possible during your visit.
