Public Opening

Q1 When are you closed?: A1. In principle, we are closed on Wednesdays. When a Wednesday falls on a holiday, we will be closed on the following day.In addition, we may be closed when we receive distinguished guests from abroad or due to administrative circumstances. We will announce the details on our Twitter, and others. Please refer to them when you plan a visit.
Q2 Is a guided tour available?: A2. You are required to join a guided tour to visit the Japanese Style Annex. As regards the Main Building and Garden, the visitors are free to enjoy viewing at their own pace along designated routes.
* Guided tours in the Main Building and Garden can be arranged as a special program.
Q3 When can I find out about the public opening schedule or the type of visit?: A3. We generally post a monthly schedule on the “Public Opening Schedule” page, approximately two months ahead of time.
Q4 Am I required to make an advance reservation to pay a visit?: A4. To visit the Main Building and Japanese Style Annex, you are required to make an advance reservation via ”The Application System for Guest House Public Opening.” On the other hand, you can visit the Garden without an advance reservation.
Q5 When do you begin accepting advance reservations?: A5. We generally begin accepting advance reservations from eight weeks before the date of visit. For those wishing to visit the Main Building, Japanese Style Annex, etc., please check ” The Public Opening Schedule” and ” The Public Opening Application System ”and confirm the available visit dates. In addition, for special projects, etc., after the end of the application period, visitors will be chosen by lottery if the number of applications exceeds capacity.
Q6 Can I make an advance reservation via other websites?: A6. You can make an advance reservation via our website only. *We do not accept advance reservation by telephone, fax or postcard.
Q7 Can I change or cancel an advance application?: A7. You can do it until noon of the day prior to visiting. Please log in to ” The Application System for Guest House Public Opening” to perform desired procedures via “Change/cancel application”.
Q8 Are there any instructions for a visit?: A8. Please refer to Visitor Rules & Regulations.
