Seasonal Exhibition for the Tango-no-Sekku ~ Clearness and Refinement of the Seasonal decoration on May ~ 3 (Thu) through 8 (Tue) May

 Each year, people all over Japan celebrate something called Go-Sekku, or “five celebrations of health.” May 5 marks one of the Sekku festivals and is traditionally called Tango-no Sekku to celebrate the healthy growth of boys. Nowadays it is more commonly known as Childrenʼs day.The Kyoto State Guest House gives visitors the chance to enjoy viewing the seasonal exhibits related to the Tango-no-Sekku. The special exhibition will take place from Thursday May 3 to Tuesday May 8 . Many seasonal exhibits including Japanese helmet made of Japanese elm and traditional horse-racing dolls created by living national treasure Komao Hayashi will be showcased. Children aged 11 and 12, accompanied by their parents, are admitted only for this exhibition.
 From Thursday May 3 through Sunday May 6, public visiting hours will be extended to 20:00. Please come to experience an exclusive night viewing that highlights sliding shoji screens that cast soft light like lanterns and something more in the silence of the night in the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden.
*Note: the admission fee for this exhibition differs from the regular fee.

* The nighttime extended opening will take place from 3 (Thu) May through 6 (Sun) May.

■Opening hours
3 (Thu) through 6 (Sun) May, 2018: 10:00~20:00(Last admission: 19:30)
7 (Mon) through 8 (Tue) May, 2018: 10:00~17:00(Last admission: 16:30)

■Admission fee
Adults: 1,500 yen, Students: 1,000 yen (University), 500 yen (Junior High & High school aged 13 to 18), Free: Elementary children aged 11 and 12 only.
*One child aged 11 and 12 should be accompanied by one parent.
*Children aged 10 and younger are not admitted.
* Visitors except adults are required to show the ID on the day of visit. Please bring the valid ID for ID purpose.
*Payment is acceptable only in cash.
